Gems Are in the Dirt

I’ve found that if you’ll just try, you can do nearly anything. There are always small gems, little opportunities, lying around just waiting for somebody to come along and pick them up.  But they’re often lying in the dirt. If a little dirt’s no problem, you can always make a decent living.

Got Problems? Take Another Look

Most times, opportunities come in kit form. You ask life for a chance at becoming rich, and circumstances send you a problem or a puzzle.

Life has just given you a rich opportunity. It does that all the time, but mostly we don’t notice because we’re so busy griping about what a grind life is, and what a raw deal we have.

Yes, those riches are yours

Please understand, life does not OWE you or me anything. It strews untold riches and joys at our feet, but it’s up to us to recognize them, then to reach down and pick them up.

Tough Times? Poverty Still Starts in the Heart

Once again we’re seeing the empires of business “leaders” crumble, and once again the blowback from these events is impacting your life in ways that may be squeezing your heart with fear.

But of course, it’s the same old cycle of overreaching, then stumbling, that repeats every ten or twenty or thirty years. Here’s a golden chance to turn your attention away from the self proclaimed “leaders” and tend carefully to your own heart.

Yep, it still all comes down to what’s inside your own self. Guest author Peter Vajda gives us a refreshing (and hope-restoring) look inside our collective self with… Continue Reading »

The Secret of Hitting the Target

When an archer aims an arrow, he releases it and lets it fly. If he has aimed well, the arrow will get where he intended it to go. You’ll never see an archer carrying his arrow to the target. He lets it go.

In the same way, when you form a goal or make an affirmation, don’t feel that you have to tell your inner mind exactly how to accomplish the job. You’ve aimed. You’ve released your arrow. That’s plenty.

Don’t Worship - Just Listen

Every spiritual teacher who ever walked this earth has told us in plain language how to revolutionize our own personal reality.

We hear the words, then instead of heeding them, we kneel and worship the man who told us. Because he’s “different” from us. He’s holy. He’s anointed. He’s God in man. He has all these powers we don’t.

Confucius said, “The master points at the moon and the imbecile looks at the pointing finger.”

Where Do You Keep Your Goals?

Are the images of your goals somewhere out in the future? Do you see them anywhere except “right here, right now”?

In your thoughts, put yourself and your goals together. Every time you imagine your goal, make it “now,” right this minute. See it in your hands, and think about how much you’re enjoying that goal. Give thanks for what you have already received.

If you can’t practice giving thanks now, you’ll never get a chance to do it later.

“But I don’t HAVE it now. How can I be thankful for THAT?”

Don’t confuse “having it right now” in your inner work with “having it right now” in your outer life. They’re different. All you have to take care of is the inner experience. Universal mind will handle the outer part.

The Paradox of Commitment

Real commitment is a strange thing. Once you’re willing to go through any amount of discomfort to reach your dream, the discomfort gradually evaporates. Instead, those new experiences will just feel odd and different. Till you get used to them… then they feel wonderful.

True Quality Time

Know this — if your heart can tell you what it wants and needs, it can also tell you how to bring that desire into reality. Spend some time listening to your heart’s desire. That’s the highest quality time in existence.

Thrive During a Recession? Yes!

Here’s a great article that you need to read. It’s by long-time friend Adrian Ling about how to thrive in a recession. (Not just survive, mind you, but to actually thrive.) Coincidentally it’s titled “Opportunities in Recession. Continue Reading »
